(Property Law)
Notary Public
Specialties: Commercial, Property and Business Law

Paula is one of the Central Coast’s leading property and commercial lawyers, with particular expertise in complex property transactions, development and business law. Since joining Penmans in 2009, she has built a reputation for providing practical, strategic advice and helping business owners, developers, investors and property owners navigate complex transactions with confidence and clarity.

Paula’s practice spans both property and business law. She advises on property acquisitions and sales, development projects, subdivisions, leasing and other complex property transactions, as well as business acquisitions and sales, commercial agreements, business structures and a broad range of commercial matters.

Paula has particular expertise in the acquisition and sale of real estate agency businesses, including rent rolls and strata management businesses, as well as childcare centres and motels. She also acts in the acquisition and sale of businesses across many other industries. Her experience across both property and commercial law is particularly valuable in transactions where the business and the underlying property, lease or development issues are closely connected.

She particularly enjoys working alongside business owners and being part of their journey over the long term. Paula strongly believes that thriving businesses are essential to a strong local community and values the opportunity to understand her clients’ businesses, what they are trying to achieve and the commercial realities behind their legal decisions. Her approach is practical and commercially focused, with an emphasis on finding solutions rather than simply identifying legal problems.

In recognition of her expertise in property law, Paula achieved Specialist Accreditation from the Law Society of NSW in 2023. She is known for her ability to make complex legal issues understandable and for giving clients clear, straightforward advice about both the legal and commercial considerations that matter to them.

Alongside her client work, Paula is passionate about mentoring young lawyers and sharing knowledge within the profession. A strong advocate for plain-English legal drafting, she is also a specialist property law author for LexisNexis, contributing to resources used by legal professionals across Australia.

Paula is a practising Public Notary and currently serves as President of the Central Coast Regional Law Society. She is committed to supporting both the legal profession and the business community on the Central Coast.
