Who we are

He had been articled to EW Johnson of Johnson & Sendall of Goulburn.  He was admitted as a solicitor on 27 May 1938.  He then worked for Johnson & Sendall; Davies & Woods, Canberra; and Phillips & Co, Yass, before joining the Australian Army in 1942.  On discharge he returned to Phillips & Co.

In late 1947, he rented his first office in Gosford and Penmans has practised from Gosford ever since.  Historically, many of  the partners of Penmans have joined the firm either as graduates or in their first few  years of practice and have stayed with Penmans for the entirety of their career. Both of our current partners joined Penmans prior to their admission as lawyers.

2023 was a year of change for our firm.  Recent technological improvements in our profession including the online court gave us an opportunity to relook at our office space needs and the decision was made to move away from Gosford  courthouse and design a new office at West Gosford; we are now settled into a modern and inspiring workspace for our team together with a better experience for our clients, including better parking and accessibility.
