Kara is a seasoned lawyer who brings more than 20 years’ experience advising clients across commercial, business, property and leasing matters, firstly as a licensed conveyancer, and since 2013, as a lawyer.

Before joining Penmans, Kara practised as Principal of Catenate Consultant Lawyers, a boutique Central Coast firm providing services in property, commercial and wills and estates matters. Prior to owning her own firm, Kara spent more than 10 years at a top-tier Sydney law firm, acting on a broad range of complex commercial, business and property matters for corporate, developer and institutional clients.

Kara’s practice includes residential and commercial conveyancing, property developments (including off-the-plan projects), and leasing across commercial, industrial and retail sectors, including Crown land matters. She regularly provides advice on new leases, variations and assignments, retirement village matters, strata by-laws, co-ownership arrangements, easements and compulsory acquisition matters.

She also assists clients with related commercial and business documentation, including business sale and purchase transactions, shareholder agreements, loan agreements, non-disclosure agreements, and construction contract reviews.

Over the course of her career, Kara has acted for a diverse client base including property developers, private landlords, national franchise groups, energy providers, major banks and mortgage managers. She is known for her attention to detail, clear communication, and collaborative approach.

Kara joined Penmans in May 2026 and looks forward to continuing to serve her Catenate clients, as well as Penmans’ long-standing and new clients, with her strong technical expertise and practical approach.
